My mom just left town to head back to Dallas. She was here for 3 1/2 days for a Mother's Day visit. She wasn't really here to visit me. She came to visit my daughter, Alyssa.
For the past two weeks, Alyssa has been constantly, "Mimi? Mimi?" And I have to say, "No, Mimi is not here. Mimi is at home." Not that a 17 1/2 month old understands what that means.
I had to drop her off at school this morning, and it was, "Mimi? Where Mimi?"
On Sunday, we had a BBQ at the house. We had some Beef Ribs, Pork tenderloin, grilled corn on the cob, and a couple of different salads.
On Monday, we went to the Pump it Up jump place. I took her to this place in Dallas, but that one was a "junior" place. That means, the bounce-house equipment at this place was HUGE! Alyssa was a little scared at first, but relaxed after a little bit. She took a really good nap after that!
On Tuesday, we made a stepping stone with Alyssa's hand print so Mimi could put it in her flowerbed at home. It is a cool one where you can put a picture in it as well. I'm going to go back this weekend and get one for myself. We can do several over the years and decorate the yard.
We also spent some time at the park playing on the slide. She even went down the big slide all by herself.
We had plans to do other things, but it boiled down to my mom just wanting to spend time with Alyssa and didn't care about doing activities, so we spent much of the time in the yard watching Alyssa water the grass.
My mom left this morning as I took Alyssa to daycare, and I can imagine how hard it was for her to leave. This is her only grandchild and spent so much time with her over the past year and a half. I swear, Alyssa is like an addictive drug. You just can't get enough of her.
All in all, it was a fun few days, but now I really need to get back to work!!
