Every year in April, the Texas Bluebonnet, Texas' official state flower, makes an appearance. Sometimes they only last a couple of weeks. This year, with the nice weather and decent amount of rain, they've lasted almost 4 weeks already. And even though they're called a "blue" bonnet, they're actually more purple than blue.

April is the time to scramble and get all your family pictures taken.  Here are some pictures of me and Alyssa in the field of Bluebonnets at Steiner Ranch in Austin TX.

The Backyard at Bee Cave TX is almost ready for it's opening act headlined by... ZZ TOP!

That's right, ZZ TOP is The Backyard's first show on Sunday, April 25, 2010. Doors open at 6:30pm with the show at 8pm.

What I find pretty interesting, and cool, is that you can buy an upgrade package. No more of this "backstage pass" lingo. It's now called an "upgrade package". What's included in the ZZ Top Upgrade Package?  You get to meet and greet ZZ Top after the show and get personal autographs. I mean, who wants an autograph made out to someone else? This one will be personal!

You'll also get a special t-shirt, tour poster, official ZZ Top guitar picks, a keychain, and limited edition "Cheap Sunglasses".

How much does that cost you?  Only $250... However, that does not include a ticket, but you have to have a ticket in order to buy the upgrade package. Tickets are $49.50, so for a cool $300, you can have a snazzy good time with ZZ Top!

The new location of The Backyard is just West of 620 on Highway 71 in Bee Cave TX.

The Hill Country Galleria in Bee Cave TX hosts SpringFest 2010 on Saturday, April 24.  There are going to be lots of activities for everyone, including a BBQ cook off, a margarita contest, and bounce houses for the kids.

At the Learning Express Toys, Cinderella and Batman will make an appearance from 12:30-6pm.

It looks like it's going to be a lot of fun, and we're definitely looking forward to it.

Here's a TV commercial about the SpringFest 2010 at the Hill Country Galleria, though I honestly have not seen it on TV...

Did you really, seriously, honestly think that the tax credit would be extended again? What planet were you living on when you thought that would happen? Our government has no money! We are seriously in debt! Where would the money come from to keep handing it out?

Plus, and here's the huge PLUS, if it was extended this time, what would make buyers think they had to rush to buy something when they would continue to think the tax credit would be extended time and time again. Deadlines are given for a reason, and that reason is to light a fire under the American people to get off the fence and buy houses, and invest their money in real estate.

Extending and extending this tax credit only keeps people on the fence with no urgency to do much of anything.

If you think there will be a last-minute extension, think again. It's April 14, 2010 and you have 16 days to execute a contract, unless you're in the military, in which you have another year.

Get out there and buy a house!!

* First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit - It Won't be Extended - Buy a House! * was first published on donnahomesblog.com

Alyssa had her very first Dentist appointment this morning with Dr. Eaddy in Lakeway TX. I was a little worried because I've heard lots of stories about how they are all scared and cry and the only thing that gets done is them opening up wide and that's it...

Before we went, I told Alyssa that Ms. Alexis would want her to open up wide and look at her teeth. I also told her she would brush her teeth, back and forth, and up and down, and front and back, and that it would probably tickle. I told her that if it tickled, to just try to stay as still as possible and we could laugh later.

Ms. Alexis was awesome with her!  The first thing they did was go up and down in the chair!  She showed her the tickle brush, the mirror, the water squirter and even squirted mommy and daddy with the water!  Alyssa thought that was funny.  She didn't understand the water sucker, as she swallowed all the water, but maybe next time.

Over all, her teeth look great and Alyssa got many toys to bring home as well as a new tooth brush.  I highly recommend Dr. Eaddy's office in Lakeway TX and his hygienist, Alexis.

Cottages of Spillman Ridge - Bee Cave TX - Falconhead - Will these condos actually be built?  For the past few years, there has been a lot of speculation and rumor as to what is going to be built on the corner of Falconhead Blvd and Spillman Ranch Loop, which leads into the Falconhead Community.

What's the latest? The latest is that Ash Creek Homes is trying to get the City of Bee Cave TX to approve a 51 unit condominium development. It's not listed on their website as a "future community", but it's been published in the Lake Travis newsletter, Community Impact Newspaper.

For me, that's great. I can always use more properties to sell. However, my concern is with the term "condominium".  With the mortgage regulations on condos getting so strict, I really wish they would sell them as townhouses instead.

Some of the land has already been cleared, but there are no signs up yet. I'll keep you posted. Until then, I would be more than happy to help you buy a new or pre-owned home in Falconhead or Falconhead West.

Bee Cave - Austin TX - St. David's Emergency Center will be first of its kind in Central Texas. This is a free-standing ER, not attached to any other medical buildings. And where is it going to be? Right at the center of the Hill Country Galleria in Bee Cave TX.

Sounds like an odd place to put it if you ask me, but there's plenty of room to share the space with the mall.  We're talking about a 10,000 sqft building that is scheduled to have approximately 20-22 employees. Along with the Lakeway Regional Medical Center that is back on track, this is sure to bring even more relocation of doctors and nurses to the area.

Currently, the closest two emergency rooms are Seton SouthWest, which is just under 10 minutes away, and Westlake Medical Center, which is just over 10 minutes away. The St. David's Emergency Center in Bee Cave TX is going to help alleviate a lot of drive time during critical times.

The projected amount of patients for the first year is just over 7000. That's a lot since Bee Cave's population is roughly 2000 (656 at the 2000 census, and around 500 houses built in Bee Cave since that time).

St. David's Emergency Center in Bee Cave TX is going to open by the end of 2010, a couple of years ahead of the Lakeway Medical Center.
