I walked around my house for the last time last night remembering all the reasons why we bought it. It's a great floorplan with great features throughout!
Good-Bye Family Room... I love your plantation shutters and your slate surround fireplace. I love the view of the spiral staircase, and how open it is to the Kitchen.
Good-Bye Kitchen... I'm going to miss your HUGE island with tons of storage. I don't have this much storage in my new house. I'm also going to REALLY miss your walk-in pantry. My new house has two pantries, but combined, they're still not the size of yours.
Good-Bye Bosch Dishwasher... I'm going to miss my Valentine's Present of 2006. That Bosch dishwasher is sooooo quiet. It took us 3 months to agree on a dishwasher which shows tons of thought was put into the decision.
Good-Bye Office... I've been religated to the first floor at the new house, so I'm going to miss my views out the bay window as well as my walk-in closet.
Good-Bye Alyssa's Lavender Room... I painted this room when I was almost 6 months pregnant. One coat of primer and two coats of the lavender. Many hours of love went into picking the color. I think I'm going to use this same color at the new house.
I'm heading down to Austin today, and the movers drop off our things on Saturday morning. I have grandparents all lined up to watch Alyssa so things can go quickly, but I anticipate the entire day unloading that truck.
I have not seen the completed house yet, so I'll be sure to take pictures. The above pictures are from my phone, hence, the poor quality.
I'll update with the new house this weekend!

Donna, Why did you choose to move to a different home? I hope you enjoy it. I'm sure you will.
Donna -
Hello, New House!
Sad to leave - but now you will start making memories in a new place!
Congrats!
DEAN & DEAN'S TEAM CHICAGO
You remind me of my daughter. Her father was in the military and when we moved she got sad and had to go around and say bye to the house. That showed me that she loved our time there.
Harry, Change is BAD!!
Tony, I didn't "choose" to move. My hands were tied, and I was not given a choice. Correction, I said NO several times, but was not heard.
Dean, True, but this was supposed to be our 7-10 year house and I only got 3 1/2 years.
Shirley, Yes, I really did love this house. It's nothing like the new house.
EVERY agent should be required to move every three to five years and go through the loan process too. Otherwise we tend to forget what our clients go through. The highs, lows, uncertainty, etc. Now I don't really believe we should be forced to move... but you get my point.
I'm sorry you are having to leave a home you love...I've done that! But I really believe a house is just a shell....I've been very happy in my life in any number of houses...once by the beach, once in PA, once in Santa Barbara....my memories of all those times never included the shell I lived in. Looking forward to your new pictures of the new home.
Here's hoping the new house comes to mean as much as the old house.
I chuckled when I read your new house has two panties. Old house is pretty and good for your for leaving it so neat and clean! Enjoy your new home!
Good luck in Austin!
I will not hesitate to show your house here in the Dallas area (I think it's in Richardson, no???) and maybe even bring you a Buyer! Wouldn't that be great??? :0)
Would you forward me the MLS # ???
Edith Schreiber - Dallas Texas
Love tha change! and take a break after you are settled.
Perrin, I wouldn't mind moving if I didn't just put over $15k of upgrades into the house that I'm not going to get back...
Karen, Yes, you have a point, but a shell shouldn't make you lose money when you're selling after you just put a lot into it.
Bill, Me too...
Kimberly, THanks for letting me know. I've corrected that! Spell check can't catch something spelled correctly, but being the wrong word.
Edith, Yes, it's in Richardson, MLS#11122011. PLEASE bring me a buyer. I would love the opportunity to work with you!
I'm sorry that you had to move. I know that you will make new memories at your new home. I hope the move goes smoothly.
Nannette, Break? I have two appts with buyers next week already! One's actually a relo from Dallas.
Darrell, Thanks for the empathy.
Hey, Donna. I can only imagine how hard it is to leave such a great home. I wish you all the best with your move and new home. God bless, Jim
