Usually "Tax Free Weekend" is in August, but this year, there's nothing new... Tax Free Appliance Weekend and it's this weekend!!
Memorial Day weekend, starting today, May 22, 2009 and going through Monday, there will be no taxes on Appliances. The catch? The appliances must be ENERGY STAR appliances!
The point? Helping people become more energy efficient within their homes and helping them save some money with the expense of upgrading their current appliances. Even ceiling fans are included.
If you've been wanting that new washer and dryer or that new refridgerator, now's the time to get out and get one!

How have I missed this announcement? We actually went looking at sofa's this evening before going to the movies. I knew they were having a sale, but didn't realize it was no taxes.
Donna: I am wondering... is this just in the Austin area ? I have not heard a word about it up here in Fort Worth. It's odd that it would have so little (none) advertising. Thanks for the alert.
