Over the past couple of weeks, I've been posting pictures of some "creatures" in and around my house. Can you guess what this one is?

I walked into my Toilet Room, as it's the little room in the bathroom that separates the toilet, and I usually don't turn the light on in there because there's a window or because I have the light in the main bathroom on.
This evening, it was already dark outside, and I didn't have the main light on. I just walked right into the Toilet Room, and casually turned the light on, and then JUMPED and screamed, and RAAAANNNNNN!
I had never seen a scorpian in person before, only in books! I coulda died if I stepped on it, I think...
And granted, it wasn't that big, but when it's unexpected, it seemed HUGE to me!!

We have scorpions here also, Donna. They like to live in pine trees so if you have pine trees nearby you may see them in your home. There is a yellow scorpion that is very poisonous that lives out your way - this kind of looks yellow. Is it that kind? Yikes!
Sharon
They seem to lke new construction.
We had them around our home as a boy.
Good grief! I think I'll take the rainy winters in my pacific northwest coastal corner, as there are no "critters".
That just made my skin crawl. I couldnt imagine seeing one of those guys. So was it dead when you go close enough to put a penny next to it or did you wait til it walked over to the penny :)
Sharon, No pine trees around, and it was more brown than yellow.
Tom, Not many in Dallas.
Sea, But there are a lot of worms up there!
Heather, It was very much alive and was moving fast. I threw the penny on the ground, and then slowly kept kicking it closer to the scorpian until it was a decent distance for the picture.
Hey Donna, I woulda done the exact same thing!! I have never seen a scorpion in person, and I'd love to keep it that way!
Hi Donna... that would have totally freaked me out. I am not a fan of most insects, even the ones that do good things, but ones that bite and sting... no way!
Donna,
I could see how that little creature could get you attention. I'm ok with everything except snakes.
J&M, Now I don't feel so girlie!
Steve, I know! No purpose for them!
Richard, I saw a snake on my walk last night. I ran home to get my camera while a couple of people from the neighborhood watched it, but when I got back, it has slithered away...

I need help with the creature in the above link...
Scorpions! I have my stories too. I was stung once when I was a teenager. My family is from the San Antonio area, and I lived there for some time. We found them quite often. Here is a pointer that you may have already found out. What I have heard, and what my experience has been - They always travel in pairs. So if you find one, look for another one. They are usually not more than a few feet away. I have always found them in the same room. Take care!
Valarie, I'm happy to say we have not seen a second one, so I really hope they don't travel in pairs!!
