BabyHarris Update

You know how they say that when you're pregnant and you dream about the baby, that part of that is true.  Like if you dream of girls, you're probably going to have a girl?

Well, the last 2-3 days, I haven't really felt pregnant.  I haven't been very hungry, and I'm not getting those little pains in my side like I was, and now I miss...

Last night, I dreamt that I had a miscarriage.  Within the dream, I was running around everywhere to find a doppler to see if I could hear the heartbeat, and the heartbeat was present at the 140 range (last appt was 160 and previous appt was 174).  So, there was a heartbeat, but the doctor told me I miscarried...

Then, this morning, I was at a listing appt, and I almost passed out twice in his kitchen.  The first time, I just got a little dizzy and light headed so I had to sit down.  About 10 minutes later, I was standing up again at the breakfast bar and we were discussing his potential Net if he sold, and all of a sudden, I was so dizzy I almost missed the chair.  I saw spots, and my speak went slurred, and I started sweating....

It was very embarrassing.  The man was very nice.  He had me sit back down and got me a damp washcloth which I put on my neck, and he kept telling me to slow down and take it easy.  He already knew that I was high-energy and that it was hard for me to sit still, so he kept reminding me to slow down as we continued talking...

Boy was that embarrassing... so, if the dream said I miscarried, but yet, there was a heartbeat, I wonder if this was the baby's way to saying, "I'M STILL HERE!!"

What do you think?  I still don't really feel pregnant anymore.  I'm still bloated at night, but still not really showing much in the mornings.  I'm eating quite a lot less than I was in the first trimester... thoughts?

By the way, as soon as I got home, I wrote a personal Thank You card to him and put a $10 Starbucks giftcard in there as he was very understanding about the situation...  boy did I feel stupid!!!

By the way, please post your guess on the sex, date, and size...

Donna - I certainly hope you are feeling much better this evening!  Do let me know - you must have been so scared, and of course you are anxious - I would say call the doc pronto! Dreams - sometimes they aren't foreshadowings but recognized fears - so don't take it as a sign! Good luck! Liz

Thank you Liz!  Yes, I'm feeling a little better and even ate some homemade chicken nachos for dinner.  I did have to put a washcloth on my neck again a couple of hours ago, but seem to be feeling better, for now.  I have a doctors appt next Monday, so I didn't think anything about calling, but my mom suggested I call first thing Monday and see if maybe they want to test for anemia again... though the books say the 4th and 5th month have a lot of dizziness involved as the blood moves around.

Anyway, I'll keep you posted on what the doc says. Thanks again.

To rest your mind... I'd call your doctor and describe what you're feeling to him/her.  I agree with your mom.

Hey Donna, I would go to the doctor but everything you mentioned is normal.  Once you get past the first trimester and half way through the 2nd you feel back to normal.  Your appetite will pick up again.

Dreams, get ready for some wacky ones.  I think everyone who has been pregnant has dreamed about miscarriages.  Boy, I had some wacked out dreams with my son.  I had another crazy dream the other night and was afraid I was pregnant again!  :)  I'm not.

Get checked out, but I think you are ok.  I don't know what to think about the dizziness.  Keep us posted!  Hope you feel better.

All sounds pretty normal to me.  Each trimester (and, for that matter, each pregnancy) has its own little peculiarities - and the dreams!  Oh, my, the dreams!  Anyway, not feeling pregnant (as in, not having the same symptoms you had in the first trimester) is pretty normal; take the breather and be grateful! ;-)

Thank you for all the encouraging and comforting words.  My doctor thinks everything is normal and I just got a little over heated.  My next appt is still for next Monday.

I just really wish my appetite would come back so I can eat whatever I want again! LOL

My Grandmother probably delivered 1000 babies. And a few of those were family members(at home).

Her advice: "Listen to your body. But don't over think it...."

There are wonderful/beautiful things happening to your body right now.... and you are excited. Try to relax when you can.....

Hugs!!

Tom

Donna,

Hope you're feeling better.  Just take it easy as often as you can.  It's okay to spoil yourself now -- once the baby arrives you won't have as much time for yourself.  The dreams, like Tricia said, the weird dreams are pretty normal, I think.  I know I had some pretty weird ones.  Keep us up-dated with the news of our "Active Rain Baby".

Ohh the joys of pregnancy!  My summer preganancy was tough on me, too.  I think everyone at the office was sure the swelling in my ankles would never go down.  I agree with some of the other commenters to let your doctor know what you're experiencing, but don't put a lot of stock in dreams.  Before you know it, you'll be holding that sweet little angel in your arms.

Sorry if my reply is a little too passionate, but my wife and I are "trying" and this is how I would react if it were her.

Ok, I'll get to the dreams part in a minute.  You are pregnant, had two dizzy spells and slurred speech from one of them.  Get checked out, it could be nothing, or it could be symptoms of a minor problem (like high blood pressure due to being pregnant) or it could be a symptom of something more serious (like a transient ischemic attack or mini aneurism)

Dreams can be very funny.  My mom and I both have very obviously symbolic dreams.  I am pretty sure half the time I have De Javu it is because of something I was dreaming about.  What is interesting about your dream and how you describe is the part about running around trying to hear the heart beat which was still there but slower, and how your doctor told you one thing but you were doing or believing something else anyway.  My interpretation would be that the dream was trying to tell you something you already knew, and that you learned the hard way the next day... YOU NEED TO SLOW DOWN.  Everyone knows you are capable of keeping up the pace even though you are pregnant, but that doesn't mean you have to prove it, take it easy, slow down, take care of yourself.

Thank you everyone.  Yes, I'm trying to take it easy as much as I can, but some days are better than others.  It's almost like taking a break one day, but working nonstop the next day defeats all the efforts of the break I took.  I'm not used to not being high-energy, so this is all new to me.  I have relaxed a little today and caught up on Tivo with a couple of Season Finales from a couple of weeks ago.  However, I'm also cleaning up some of my database at the same time... "complete rest"?  What's that?

My dream last night was that my hubby was trying to get my password into the guessing game so he could manipulate people's guesses... If you haven't guessed yet, you better hurry.  I might find out the sex on Monday... but I'm thinking I want to wait until my bday in July.  We'll see!

Thanks for the update!  I was wondering how you were!  Sounds like my first pregnancy.  Each one is different.  I worked my butt off during both pretending I wasn't anything special or even pregnant.

Take it easy and rest.  The miscarriage dreams are scary.  What's worse is when you have a 17 year old and 15 year old and your husband is neutered (joke!) and you have dreams of being pregnant!  Talk about nightmares!

Donna: I've never been so "creative" in my dreams until I am pregnant.... I have the wildest ones too...... I'm glad you were in good hands and yes, you need to slow down (try telling myself that). When I first found out I was pregnant, I dreamt that God told me it was a Baby girl..... come many months later, we found out it's a boy..... So, so much for that dream.....
