The State Fair of Texas is now upon us. This year's fair runs from Sept 29 through October 22.
This also means that the Texas/OU game is this weekend! That means lots more traffic and longer waits at the restaurants, but these are the reasons Dallas begged the two schools to continue at the Cottonbowl for the next few years.

Yes, they still do that. Some districts even get a "Fall Break" this week which means the entire week off. This will be the last year for it though as school in the area will be pushed off 3 weeks starting next week. No district can start earlier than the last week of August now.
The other good thing about the fair is you don't have to have one of those "munchkin things" to go and still have fun!
