Austin TX Real Estate - Hill Country Austin Lakeway Homes for Sale: Lake Travis - Austin TX - Now Requiring a Lawn Mower

Lake Travis - Austin TX - Now Requiring a Lawn Mower

Lake Travis - Austin TX - As many know, Central Texas is in a 24 month drought at the moment, and Lake Travis - Austin TX is nearing record lows, as we're currently in third place for lowest levels.  All public boat ramps on Lake Travis have been shut down, though the ramps for Lake Austin are still open, as Lake Austin is a constant level lake.

A couple of weeks ago, I posted this picture to show you my in-law's lake front property was no longer on the lake as it completely dried up...

Now, they are needing to mow the lawn!  Can you believe all the grass and weeds that have taken over where the lake is supposed to be?

This site is unbelievable to me!!  My niece was playing around in the "mud" and actually fell in.  Apparently, that was quite a scene trying to get her out.

Our pour Lake Travis is empty at this end, but it's still running at 40% capacity as a whole.

I would hate to see what its doing to home prices there because of this. I guess the fish are easy to find though.

Gary, Yes, but the desert wouldn't have grass!

Laura, Homes for sale on Lake Travis are few and far between.  They stay in their families for generations.

Amazing photos Donna. It is unbelievable to see all that grass taking over.

That really is quite a dramatic difference.  I guess it's rich soil from all the old muck.

Gynell, I know!  PLus, up higher, there are some pretty flowers/weeds.

Georgina, Yeah, I hadn't thought that the soil would be that rich from all the water and other life.

It's sad to see it so dry.  I hope you get some rain soon.
