Cowboys' Roger Staubach Steps Down

Roger Staubach started his own Commercial Real Estate company in the 1970's after his long and prosperous career with the Dallas Cowboys.

All this time, he has remained CEO and had never handed over control of the company as it grew.  Speculation has been going around for a while and it is now true.  Staubach has stepped down from CEO and will be giving the duties to Gregory O'Brien, the president of Staubach's northeast region.

Staubach claims none of his duties will change and he'll continue to remain as active as he has always been.

Staubach was also one of the speakers to present why the new Cowboy's stadium should host the Super Bowl.  I'm sure Staubach will be selling quite a bit of real estate around those neck of the woods.

That's fascinating. I never knew that he headed into this business. What a fantastic legend of the grid iron. I wrote a report on him in grade school. I'm curious, how big is his brokerage?

Staubach's company is probably the LARGEST commercial real estate company in the DFW area.  They do sales and leases and construction... they do it all.  It's HUGE!

Roger was a class act on the field. If he took that approach with his business it would explain why he's the biggest commercial real estate brokerage in the DFW Metroplex.

You don't see athletes like him any more. I'm sure the reason he was so successful off the field as on it was his integrity and sense of fair play. -Charles

Besides Aikman, I think Staubach is the only other HUGE Cowboys player who made a real name for himself and didn't allow the law to make a name for him.  So many of our players think getting arrested here and there will make them more known, and it just makes them look stupid.  Yes, a class act.

Don't forget our Dancing with the Stars Champion, Emmitt Smith.  He was a class act on and off the field and hasn't gotten into trouble like some other well known Cowboys - like Irvin!

True, Emmitt was a class act, until he decided to leave and go to Arizona for his last two years.  He was traded back to the Cowboys just for retirement... he didn't play here, so he was basically forgotten about. Sad, but true...
