Austin TX Real Estate - Hill Country Austin Lakeway Homes for Sale: I Can See the Progress...

I Can See the Progress...

FINALLY!!  I can see some progress being made on my house!  The brick was supposed to be replaced last week, but they got scared of rain, yet it didn't rain until Friday.  They finally showed up on Wednesday this week, one guy.  On Thursday, late afternoon, one guy.

I felt they were humoring me by sending just one guy over, so I sent a nasty-gram to the Regional Manager person... however, I have yet to receive a response...

After much damage to the house yesterday, that's all been repaired, and the brick is going up...

They still say it's going to be two weeks, and let's hope that the rain stays away!

Good luck on your new home Donna!  Be sure to post photos when you've moved it and it's all decorated!

Hi Donna, I like the brick a lot!  Just keep telling yourself that a few years from now you'll forget all the headaches, and you'll be driving up to your house and smiling, thinking how glad you are to have done all this.

Anna, I moved in 5 months ago.  They're doing LOTS of repairs, like completely rebricking the exterior.  They've already redone some of the walls in the house, redone some cabinets, and the fireplace will be completely torn out and rebuilt next week...

And NO, this is not a pre-owned home.  THis is a BRAND NEW home!

Susan, I sure hope so, because this has been a bigger pain than the actual building process.

What a mess!  Glad they're finally getting to work on it!

Donna

I am sure you will be glad when this marathon is finished. I remember your earlier blog about the truck pulling up and then leaving. Builders go through these events daily and I am surprised sometimes that homes ever get completed!

John, On the way, but a long way to go...

Kathleen, No Joke!

Trey, With the open punch lists, I don't think most ever do get finished!

Good luck with a production built home.  The builders are challenges at times.

You'd think that with the downturn in new home construction, they'd be all over it.

Mike, There is no downturn in my neighborhood.  My builder currently has 24 houses on the ground with several more waiting for permits, and there are two other builders in the community.... they're swamped!
