BabyHarris Update 6/24/2007

Here's the count down to finding out the sex of the baby!  17 days and counting.  I'm so excited.  I've had a mad rush from some people to get their guesses in so they count before the sex is found out.  If you're one of those people, don't forget to make your guess.  Also, if you're not guessing because it's still too soon to really guess a date, not a problem because those items can be edited by me whenever you want.

SO, I am 18 weeks, and the baby is supposed to be about 5.5 inches long.  It can hear me talk.  It is sucking its thumb.  It is growing its babyfat. 

Oh, and it is also FINALLY getting used to my Trader Joe's dried Granny Smith apples!  I love those things, but baby kept making me visit the porcelin god to get them out... I just got back from the West Coast where Trader Joe's is in abundance, and I bought more along with my chocolate covered raisins.  I wonder if it will like those...

OK where are you gaining the weight ~ all over or just your belly?  I need to know to guess!  Post a picture if you can!!!!!!  I know it sounds weird but ... ???  Praying to the porcelain god is also a great hint.  How are you feeling now?  Still a little sick or nauseous?  I know you were feeling a bit faint once.  More hints more hints!

Renee, I'm basically gaining the weight just at my stomach... No sick or nausea... Feeling good.  Most of the time, I don't feel pregnant at all. I'm sure that'll change when I start to feel the movement.  I think I have felt movement, but it feels too much like food digesting to really know.

It's funny that it's a complete tie right now with boys and girls at 17 each... I thought for sure people would lean more one direction than the other, but it hasn't happened yet. Though I do know guys tend to always vote for the boy side, so in that aspect, all but 4 guys have voted boy thus far.

I gained only in front with my son and all over with my daughter so I say boy too and that's my scientifically correct guess and I'm not a guy!

What if I mentioned what the heart beat has been?  There are lots of wives tales about the heart beat.  My first appt at 8 weeks, the heartbeat was 174.  At 12 weeks, it was 160. At 16 weeks, it was 154... it's slowing down... but the wives tale says the higher it is, it's a girl.  The lower it is, it's a boy... However, I know a lot of girls who were in the 140's.  And if it is a boy, that explains the table manners, or lack there of!!  LOL!
