The Holidays with the Family can get a little interesting, to say the least. Not everyone gets along all the time, and I'm sure there are family members that just don't fit in.
Alyssa, Mimi, and I braved Black Friday in order to purchase our new family. Look at what Alyssa brought home...
And then, the in-laws decided they were missing out, so we had to let them in.
It never fails, whenever there's a decent get together, the distant relatives that no one has heard from in years come along and crashes everything.
Even with Pirate Pete and Crazy Chris, the weekend was fun.
I hope you have enjoyed Alyssa's first attempt at realizing not everyone looks the same and has their own personalities.

looking at the family portraits, I'm thinking we just may be related...
Hi Donna,
Just love your potato head family! LOL.
Glad you had a fun weekend.
Steve
It looks like you had some fun with your family.
Hi Donna, great looking family. I think my favorite is the gay, one eared pirate
Donna - I love Mr. Potato Head. I was just watching a commercial with Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head driving down the road, I had to rewind it for my family. They all rolled their eyes at me. Hey, what can I say, I'm a fan! Love the photos and the description. HA HA HA
Wow! I remember the Potato Heads from when I was a kid. Now my grandchildren love them. Great post and pics.
Very funny! If you ever need a real estate agent in East Jefferson County, Wa; Port Townsend, Port Ludlow. Give me call. I love referrals.
John, It might be possible!
Steve, Thanks!
Terri, We sure did!
Bill, I prefer to call him Flamboyant...
Judy, Glad it brought back memories.
Bob, My mom said she used to have to use a real potato!
Charlie, Did you seriously just solicit on my blog. Very rude and not with AR blogging etiquette standards.
Hi Donna... Looks like Alyssa may have a future career as a diversity coordinator! Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving!
Donna, I know this job care be a bit crazy at times...but do these"guest" actually talk to you? Have you discussed the voices with a professional in the medical field? I had a Mr Potato Head as a child...and he made prank calls and tried to give the cat a bath...I hope your friends are under control?
Steve S, She definitely likes diversity!
Steve L, As you can see, some of them don't have ears, so they can't hear me talking back to them, so there are no witnesses!
I shopped toys for Meng for the first time EVER this weekend. I was deeply disappointed that I didn't get anything the first day (Black Friday) so I was determined to go back on Saturday to stand in line to make sure my son wouldn't be disappointed (he really didn't care but I was on a mission by that point!). I got most of the stuff on Saturday only to return today (Sunday) to get more because I was sucked into their Sunday 30% off coupons for a tricycle.
Then of course, they will be doing their Cyber Monday sale tomorrow. You betcha I will be on the computer at 5am to see what else I could buy.
I finally understand why parents buy toys for our kids. It's actually to make us feel better!
Donna...I have a few deaf and dumb friends too...but medically they are actually fine, its more about selective hearing...they only hear what they want to hear.. :o) Thanks for the laughs. Steve
Loreena, HAHA! I still haven't "shopped" for anything for Alyssa. We were in Dallas and my mom wanted a couple of things to keep at her house, so I picked the Potato Head family and the new Trio blocks that you can build with. I don't think she understands any of it still, so no point in getting her anything else besides what the grandparents will give her. She has two different kinds of tricycles, but she won't steer so I get to stand beside her, crouched down, pushing her down the street... not fun!
Steve L, I have a mother and in-laws who play the same game... my mother in law does have hearing aids, but I think it's selective for a big part of it.
Donna, love your new family and most especially the one's that crashed. The potatoe heads were some of my favorite toys as a kid and now they're my grandkids favorites. Some things just never change!
Donna, this is hysterical. Great fun! I have purchased the Star Wars Darth Vader Tater as a gift, and the Mr. Potato Head Santa for myself. Love them. Thanks for sharing the fun!
Thanks for the smiles gotta love potatoe heads... Have a great day
HA! Looks like you had some fun with them. Havent played with a potatoe head in quite some time. I like how you created the entire family, plus some relatives.
Silly Donna~ Thanks for the smile! :)
Leah, It's because they're so much fun and it's different each time!
Kathryn, And is it a stress reliever sitting on your desk?
Caron, Thanks!
John, Not me, but Alyssa...
Tracie, :)
