This was Alyssa's first time to play in the snow. It only snowed for about 10 minutes, but she had fun.

* Austin TX Weather - Fun in the SNOW! * was first published on donnahomesblog.com

What a great video. Having grown up in Kansas and Oklahoma, people up here think it is always 80 - 100 degree in your part of the country. We both know it can get very cold down there!!! I think you have gotten more snow than we have, but ask me again in January or February!!! Best wishes from Clifton Park, NY!!!
So fun!
It's wonderful to watch kids experience things for the first time.
Thanks so much for sharing this with us Donna.
Lewis, We had 68 days over 100 degrees this summer, one day short of the record... it definitely gets hot!
Craig, It was funny when she fell and couldn't get up, but I decided not to put that in the video.
Donna
It had to be a fun expirence for Alyssa
Good luck and success.

Donna-Snow so early!, we had temps in the 60's yesterday and we are expecting some measurable snow on Saturday.
Hi Donna... what a great treat for Alyssa. Growing up in New Jersey that kind of snow would have been a non-event, but in Austin it's nice that it's a play opportunity! :)
You call that snow??? I thought it was the leaves falling. (ha-ha) Anytime you want to really see snow, come for a visit. We can build snowmen and igloos. (On the other hand, it gets the little ones very sad when the snowman melts slowly and then falls over and crashes!!)
Donna, she looks so fascinated with the flakes falling around her. Boy, she is growing fast. Keep that video rolling. She'll be 18 yr old in no time. I heard Houston closed their schools at 11 am with the four inches they got. The people up north just must laugh.
Donna - Cute Video! My second son's first snow was very similar although he was five at the time.
The boys got to see a little on their way to school and daycare. They didn't get to play in it.
Maybe next time
It goes without saying that Alyssa is a cutie. But get that girl some actual snow. Maybe it dropped more after the video or something. :-)
Lou, It was interesting...
Jospeh, Yes, it was unusual.
Steve S, That would have been non-event in Dallas too, but they still closed schools early.
Ruth, Yep, that was S-N-O-W...
Gary, Not just up north. I thought it was histerical! Nothing stuck and it never hit close to freezing to do any harm.
Michelle, He had to wait five years? Alyssa saw snow last year, but we didn't go out and play in it.
Tom, What a shame!
John, Nope, the video was the bulk of it!
Snow is such a mixed bag here. Its rarity makes it a major fun novelty, but it also causes major inconveniences because people are so il equipped to deal with it here.
Donna, I did nothing but complain about the cold and snow last week. I forget that some people, like little people love it.
