AquaPalooza is coming to Lake Travis in Austin TX in July 2010. No exact date has been set yet, but it's supposed to be one of the last two weekends in July.
What is AquaPalooza? Aqua means Water. AquaPalooza's debut was in 2006 and it's a huge, FREE, on-water celebration open to anyone who shows up. Last year on Lake Martin in Alabama, with Alan Jackson as the headliner, there were 4000 boats and 35,000 people. I saw Alan Jackson in concert in Dallas TX back in the Fall of 1994... yes, a loooonnnng time ago...
Yes, Lake Travis was very dry last year, but the water has already gone up over 20 feet since then. We're in a rainy El Nino, it's even raining today, so the hopes are that the Lake Travis will be back up to normal, if not above normal, by July.
As more details are released for this fun Austin TX activity, along with who will be playing, I'll post more about the event, so keep coming back for updates!

As a boater, I love an event like this!
Thank you for your post!
Paul
Donna ---- I love boating and being on the water -- this should be a fantastic event -- good luck with the water rising.

Donna, sounds like this will be a great event.
That's an awesome photo. Never been to a boating event that wasn't fun. :-)
I am sure this event will be SUPER fun! Great shot of the lake.
Hi Donna! Like John said, I love the lake photo! Now, 35,000 folks is a TON of people on the lake at once! We have those lake 'tie-ups' here too but, not NEARLY that many attend!
As for the rain--SAME here--I'm tired of wrinkled fingers, aren't you?!
Donna
It looks like a WOW event.
Good luck and success.

Paul, We've been to party cove, but we've never been to an on-water event like this.
Liz, We just got a few more inches yesterday! Lots of rain!
Rebecca, I hope so!
Greg, Photo is from their website, not mine...
John, I hope so!
Debe, I don't mind the rain when I'm in doors!!
Lou, It should be. We won out over Florida and DC!!
Hi Donna,
Let's keep praying for more rain and looks like this week will get our prayers answered. We have a long way to go but we can come close..I know the places on the lake and all the boaters would love to see more rain and this event take place! Keep us updated.
