ActiveRain's RainCamp came to Dallas TX back in mid-February. At that time, I (we) were given many great and new technology ideas to use in our businesses.
The first thing I talked about was Klout.com. Klout tracks your "popularity" on Twitter. I went from a rating of 10 up to 21 in just a couple of weeks. Great tool as it got me to mingle more with people I don't know.
On to something new...
I downloaded State from xtranormal.com. This is a very interesting tool as you can create videos with animated characters and they take your text and act out whatever scene you create for them. I took it a step further and did a voice-over so it didn't sound robotic, though I do talk fast, but that's normal. Here is it... what do you think?
Using the program, you can have your actors walk around, make hand gestures, move their eyes, and many other things. There is a fee to download a group of actors, but it was something like $10. (Just a heads up, I did receive a charge of like $0.26 on my credit card saying it was an international charge, and I'm assuming it came from this as I don't buy anything international.)
I am probably going to start emailing this out to my database and giving people an actual voice to the emails they're receiving from me when they ask for listings.
Thanks for a great new tool, RainCamp guys!

I've used Xtranormal before, but your video just gave me some new ideas!
Thank you Donna!
That is really cute, Donna. I like that you added the voiceover. I'm going to have to give Xtranormal a try to see if I would recommend it to my clients who are more on the "camera-shy" side of life. I still prefer a video of a live person, though.
Craig, Glad I could help!
Heather, My hair is at an in-between-stage right now, so the "Actor" works great!
That was well done Donna! I like the hand moves but the voice over came out really loud and tinny sounding, like you were in a tin can. Overall it was really cute!
Donna,
This is just way too cool. It has been added to my list of items to try. Thanks
Evelyn, Thanks for the feedback. I tried many things with the volume and I chalked it up to everyone's volume levels being different and people would adjust them.
Linda, Great!
We all knew you could walk on water, but now we know you can walk through concrete, too! LOL!
Lorrie, I have many powers that most don't know about!!
Donna,
Very cute and to be able to do your own sayings!
Jeanna, Thanks! It took me 3 weeks to finally figure out just making a statement was easier than an "interview".
Sheila, Yes, I bought a new mic yesterday and everything because mine wasn't working.
Donna,
Sorta reminds me of Atari, I just don't like the graphics and Nintendo look to it.
I have played around with it since Dallas Raincamp but havent done one yet - its cute. I saw one yesterday that was so funny - its on youtube about buying a bank owned home...
Greg, It's not meant to have a perfect look, it's animated....
Nicky, I'll have to look for it.
Donna, that was great. I had not seen that before. Thanks.
Ted, Thanks!
Hi Donna ~ Awesome! I love it. So glad to learn about this. You did a great job with it.
Liz
That is WAY KEWL! I have got to check that out.
Well, it may not be perfect, Donna, but it will certainlyu set you apart from the crowd still sending out text-only messages. You are courageous. People will like that.
I have played with it a few times since Raincamp, but it really takes some time to get it right. It was fun to play with though.
Donna - so, so cool...I think I found my new toy! Thank you thank you! Julie
