Austin TX Real Estate - Hill Country Austin Lakeway Homes for Sale: Dr. Eaddy Lakeway TX Dentist - Alyssa's First Dentist Appointment

Dr. Eaddy Lakeway TX Dentist - Alyssa's First Dentist Appointment

Alyssa had her very first Dentist appointment this morning with Dr. Eaddy in Lakeway TX. I was a little worried because I've heard lots of stories about how they are all scared and cry and the only thing that gets done is them opening up wide and that's it...

Before we went, I told Alyssa that Ms. Alexis would want her to open up wide and look at her teeth. I also told her she would brush her teeth, back and forth, and up and down, and front and back, and that it would probably tickle. I told her that if it tickled, to just try to stay as still as possible and we could laugh later.

Ms. Alexis was awesome with her!  The first thing they did was go up and down in the chair!  She showed her the tickle brush, the mirror, the water squirter and even squirted mommy and daddy with the water!  Alyssa thought that was funny.  She didn't understand the water sucker, as she swallowed all the water, but maybe next time.

Over all, her teeth look great and Alyssa got many toys to bring home as well as a new tooth brush.  I highly recommend Dr. Eaddy's office in Lakeway TX and his hygienist, Alexis.

Looks like she did great. Our first time was a breeze too. Just another milestone!

Donna - I think introducing the dentist to children at a young age makes a world of difference, especially when the staff is friendly and it's a positive experience like wasfor Alyssa at Dr. Eaddy's.

I was always told that kids should start seeing the dentist at the age of five or six, but I started at three and my youngest son loves going to the dentist.  He actually gets mad when someone else in the family gets their teeth cleaned and he doesn't.  Who would have thought I needed to arrange the family's teeth cleaning schedule to keep peace in the house.

Ellie, She did!

Michelle, I had always heard 3 was the magic age, but when I went to this new dentist in Feb, I was talking with her, and she said many are starting at 2 to help with future fears of not wanting to go. She used to work exclusively at a peds office, so I didn't feel the need to go to a peds office if she would take just as good a care of her!

Donna she a lot more brave than I am.  I start crying before I even leave the house when I go to the dentist :)

Donna, That's great that she had a good experience the first time.  I had a mean dentist growing up and still have issues.  Now I made sure my children had good experiences so they are not nearly as paranoid as me.

It looks like Alyssa enjoyed her visit with the dentist, she's off to a good start.

Good luck and success.

Hi Donna... any dentist who can have that effect on a small child is true gem!  I can see why you recommend her!

Donna:  This is so incredibly precious.  And, I think it is just GREAT that you wrote a post about it.  Active Rain is just so much more... that being just about real estate.

My overall advice here:  take pictures, keep forming memories... just like you are doing.  This time... when they are so very young... is over much sooner than anyone would realize.  I know.  My "baby" is thirty-eight.  These are such precious moments... savor them.

What is also so very cool about posts like this... is that so many of us have seen Alyssa "growing up"... since before she was born.  So... from a Mom who strains to remember stuff like this... from thirty-six years ago... and misses those times dearly... thanks so much for sharing.
