BabyHarris is doing well. I get lots of emails from people asking for more updates, so I'll go ahead and post.
I had a doctor's appointment on Tuesday. My blood pressure is 98/42. Yes, I said over 42!! According to my doctor, as long as I'm walking, talking, breathing, and eating, that I'm ok... so I continue on. I am currently 25w1d. I have gained 19 pounds!!
I painted the room a couple of weeks ago, and I'm working on the bathroom. I stripped the wallpaper, taped and bedded the walls, and sanded everything down, but when it came to covering everything so I could texture the wall, my husband thought that was a pain in the arse since I asked for help, and I actually contracted that out and it got done this morning. ONLY $125!! That's cheap compared to our $3575 estimate for that bathroom and our master!! This guy will come back and do our master for ONLY $375!! That's saving almost $3000!! If anyone needs an inexpensive painted, I have a referral for you!
Yes, this is a horrible picture of me, but keep in mind this is after already gaining 15 pounds! The mask helped with the fumes as that was part of the condition of "allowing" me to paint myself. Doesn't the after lavender look beautiful?? The white in the shutters and all the door frames brings out the color nicely. No actual furniture yet, however, my parents did buy a glider chair that arrived a couple of days ago, but didn't retake the picture.
No, I did not pick out this nasty, ugly wallpaper!! Doesn't it make you dizzy?? The previous owners picked it out.
No more wallpaper... we're down to the sheetrock. This room will become a little lighter than a sage green. The texture was put up today and needs 24 hours to dry. I have appts tomorrow, but I hope to get to it on Sunday.
With all this, can you believe my blood pressure is so low?!

I can't believe you are doing ALL this and pregnant - I would be milking every bit I could!! I have really low blood pressure too - always have even selling real estate and raising 3 year old twin (boys) it never tends to rise!
Everything looks great by the way!
42 is really low and as long as your doctor says you are ok I am happy for you. I hate painting too but once I start then I am ok and hustle to finish. The hardest part is taping the woodwork and removing all the outlets.
Best of Luck !!!
Donna,
I gained 60lb with each of my boys so you are doing great!!! The room looks lovely....
Jay, Painting can be a nice stress reliever. It took me almost 5 hours to prime the walls and then 6 hours to paint... there went an entire Saturday and Sunday, however, I also negotiated a contract in the middle of all that for one of my listings! The time flew by rather quickly. It took 6 hours for the wallpaper, but it sure didn't seem like that long at all... maybe because the phone kept ringing then too.
Jeannette, I can't imagine gaining 60 pounds, wow! Since I started out underweight, I'm supposed to gain at least 40 pounds, and I'm freaking out about that. I'm halfway to the 40, but more than halfway done!
Loreena, I'm catching up!! BabyHarris is an overachiever. Doc moved my closing date up an entire week from Nov 29 to Nov 22... next time I see him, he might move it up more... we could have twins!! The baby is NOT sleeping in my room. I've heard way too many stories about babies not sleeping in their room after the fact, and I don't want to deal with that. Plus, a friend of mine just got their son out of their room and he's almost 8!! Yes, 8!! Somehow, he has a 2 year old sister, but how they managed that with the son in their bed, I have no idea! I'm going over there tomorrow to see what they're "giving" away as they want to get the little girl "big girl" furniture. I can't turn down free stuff!
Donna great job and give me the name of your painter too please!
Even though your blood pressure is so low make sure you're not overdoing it. You're getting close over half way there now and the more you exert yourself the more likely contractions may start. Just take care of yourself and let others do the heavy work.
My son was 2 weeks early and my daughter 3 weeks - with both of them I thought I could do it all because I felt so good up to the last week (but neither were on time) I really wasn't ready for my daughter's delivery - it all happened so fast the male nurse who came to the car to get me out said "we're gonna need a mitt for this one".... needless to say - just take it easy :)
Donna,
I know...everyone I tell that too is amazed but its true...I always gain that much and I never feel like I'm over eating or anything....guess its just what my body needed! Nursing does wonders:-) I did it for 1 year for each of my boys and its definatly great if you are able to do it!!
Karen, I'll email you with his name and number.
Tom, I like painting for my own pleasure so I can enjoy looking at my hard work everyday... I do not like painting other people's things!!
Jeannette, I'm going to try for about 3-6 months, but probably not a year.
Kim, Congrats on finishing! I'm picking up the crib tomorrow. I got the bathroom finished painted today. The mirror and fixtures and such need to go back up, and we still need to pick out a light fixture, but we're getting closer...
