Austin TX Weather is very inconsistent. Last year, in the summer of 2009, we had 68 days over 100 degrees. It became the hottest summer on record, though the actual record for the number of 100+ degree days was 69 days.

As of today's date last year, we had already had 35 days over 100 degrees. Basically, we would have just made it past the half way point of misery for the summer!
However, what has this year been doing?? The summer of 2010 in Austin TX, thus far, has been fairly tame. We have had ZERO days at or above 100 degrees! Yes, that's a big goose egg of ZERO!!
Instead of it still being 100 degrees in the evenings, it's actually been fairly nice to sit outside on the patio or take a walk. It's very confusing how completely different this year is compared to what last year was. Lake Travis was at record lows last year, and this year it's currently standing about five feet above average. Huge difference!!
Have you noticed big differences between last year and this year in your neck of the woods?

Wish I could say the same.....last week was brutal! And of course that's when my AC in the car died. Ugh.
Ceil and I were just saying the same thing; knock on wood, we have not had one day of 100 degree weather. Usually in the middle of July we are in the high 90's and 100 plus days. Let's just hope this will continue. Canyon Lake is also full and great tubing down stream. I think we have a front headed this way and we may even get a little moisture before the end of the week. Yhea!

That's a good record not to be setting.
Good luck and success.

Maybe we could send a couple of those days down your way.
How are the lakes doing this summer? Not much new of that here in Dallas.
New phrase: Africa Hot.
Donna - lucky you.. Up here in New Jersey we have hit over a 100 a few times so far and stayed in the 90's basically now for about 3 weeks... ugh... Very Hot and sticky humidity...
Donna- Come to sticky hot three digit temp Maryland if you are missing the heat. The kicker is the added humidity too.
We've gotten to 98 degrees, but still no 100! I'm not complaining. At least I wasn't pregnant last summer with the heat!!
How about today? Supposed to be 105 in Dallas today...ugh!
They claim it hit 102 at Camp Mabry and 100 at the airport, but it must have been for a split second, because I was watching the website, and it was mostly at 98 and 99 in the late afternoon. "Only" 96 around 3ish.
