The Bee Cave Public Library at the Hill Country Galleria is holding their awards ceremony and concert with Joe McDermott on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 1pm. I'm thinking we're going to have to not do a nap that day in order to make it.
What awards? The Summer reading awards! All children in the area who read for at least 400 minutes thus far this summer, and actually turned in their reading logs, will all receive an award of a Reach for the Stars t-shirt and other prizes.
After awards are handed out, there is a concert at 2pm with Joe McDermott, a children's singer/song writer. I'm betting there are going to be a couple of hundred kids running around enjoying this time.
I hope to see you at the Bee Cave Hill Country Galleria!

That's an outstanding program for the children it a great way to get them on the right path for reading.
Good luck and success.

Donna...
I just love the name "Bee Cave Public Library!" That sounds so cool!
Donna: Lou is right, get them hooked early and they will love reading an learning forever. This is such an exciting time for your family. Just think next year you'll have two. Hope your doing well.

Hi Donna,
Have fun.....
Even at 2, Alyssa LOVES reading.
As for "Bee Cave", the story is that someone once saw a cave of bees, but I have no idea where this cave is/was, but Bee Cave is growing and becoming a hot spot!
