Austin TX Real Estate - Hill Country Austin Lakeway Homes for Sale: BabyHarris Update 10/25/2007 Week 36

BabyHarris Update 10/25/2007 Week 36

Today was my 36 week appointment for BabyHarris (still no name, but we might be getting closer).  We're right around the corner now!!

My blood pressure is still low, at 98/56, even after all the stresses of this past week.  I'm very surprised!

My blood work came back from last week's appt and my white blood cell count is out of range, high, and so is something else.  The nurse said that white blood cells go up when the body is trying to fight off infection.  My doctor is not worried because he said that it's typical for someone at this stage of the pregnancy to have a higher white blood cell count... maybe my body is fighting the flu shot I received a couple of weeks ago.

Anyway, he checked the cervix for the first time, and I'm dilated at 1 cm and 50% efaced.  This means, I have a LONG way to go to get to 10 cm dilated!!

He also noticed that I'm very swollen.  He walked in the room and was just staring at my face asking if everything was ok.  He said my face was very swollen, so he immediately checked my legs and feet for preeclampsia, but I don't have that, which is good!  Apparently I'm just retaining a lot more water than he's used to seeing in such a short time.  I also noticed my "chubby" face a couple of days ago when I looked in the mirror.  I just figured it was all catching up to me and my face was finally seeing some effects.... it must be water retention!!

Anyway, next appt is next Friday at 9am.  Hopefully I'll be more like 4 cm dilated so we can get this train a movin'!!!

Good for you Donna!

I've been a subscriber for a long time and watching the updates.

The big test will be if you are blogging during labor!

Oh, and I think Mike is a wonderful name.  All the best people I know are named Mike.

Donna - I appreciate the thought but...JMac is just not going to work. I think you should come up with a good name like Max. Then when the baby is little, you can tell him that Re named all the ballons after him.

ps- the swollen cheeks will disappear if you stop shoving twinkies in your mouth.

Everyone loves a sweet baby story..and the excitement that comes with it. Time is approaching. Get your rest !!!

Mike, Thanks for the thought of Mike, however, that is my Husband's name and there will be no "junior" in this household... plus, it's a GIRL!

JMac, You knew it was a girl, but you've been working so hard these days, it must have slipped your mind...

Michele, Thank you also for the name suggestion, however, I have a cousin Michelle, and that just won't work.

I am obviously an MM, Mike Mueller

I married a Megan so she is an MM too.

But her maiden name is McDowell so she's always been an MM.

When we were pregnant, we looked at every M name in every book and didn't like any of them.  (sorry Michele)

We ended up with a phonetic M for my daughter.  Emily!

How about Emikely?  That sounds girly doesn't it?

I have a Realtor Friend whose granddaughter's name is Mishealyn (pronounced Ma-shea-lyn). She was stumped as well and just took three names that she liked and put them together!

Good luck and DON'T RUSH IT!!! Get ALL THE REST you can right now. God Bless as well.

Almost there - seems like she'll be a Thanksgiving baby... my twins due date was the same time 3 years ago, but they decided to come 3 months earlier in August - so, I can't imagine how I would have felt at 36 weeks!

We kept the boys names a secret because I didn't care to hear anyone's opinions on their names (Jackson and Teague) - once they were here everyone loved them (or at least kept quiet if they didn't).

Anyways - we are all anxiously awaiting her arrival and her name!!
