Austin TX Real Estate - Hill Country Austin Lakeway Homes for Sale: Video - New Construction Home Built from the Ground Up - Falconhead West Austin TX

Video - New Construction Home Built from the Ground Up - Falconhead West Austin TX

For a couple of years, the view outside my office window was a vacant lot across the street. The builders had not put a house there yet.  I thought it would be fun to capture the entire building process on video, so I waited and waited for them to start "moving dirt", as they say.  One day, I finally saw the dumpster appear. That means they're ready...

Each day that there was some type of progress on the house, I went out and shot a very short video from approximately the same spot each time. I then stitched all the videos together and produced this:

As I was creating videos, I thought for sure that this would become a 5 minute video that would be way too long to interest people, but it's just over a minute. I've watched it a few times. I think it's pretty cool to watch it all come together.

If you live in a market where it's all older homes, and you've never actually seen a new construction house being built, you would enjoy this little video I created.

Falconhead West, where this video was shot, as this is where I live, is on it's final closeout. The builders should be gone within the next few months. Some of the model homes have already been sold. There are other communities these builders are moving to or already at in addition to other builders. I can help you build your very own home in the Austin TX or surrounding areas like out here in the Lake Travis area. Call me today!

New and Newer communities still building in the area are Rocky Creek, West Cypress Hills, and Rough Hollow. New Communities on their way are Serene Hills, Sweetwater, and Ladera.  All these are Lake Travis ISD neighborhoods, and the new schools are on their way!

Donna, That's a great video.  You did an excellent job.  May I suggest you write a "how to" video on how you created this.  You mentioned you took videos of the progress.  How did you edit the video?  Do you use an Apple or PC? What video editing software did you use?  I think it's great and very inspiring for those of us (me) who want to incorporate more video into my business.

Hi Kathleen, Actually, I didn't do much of anything. I took the videos with a Flip video, and then told the Flip software to stitch the videos together. It took about 15 minutes, and viola. I then uploaded it to YouTube for easier accessibility.  Sorry that there was nothing "fancy" done. :)

Donna:  That was really creative thinking.  I loved the wood stacked in one frame and the house up in the next!

Donna: You did a very good job.

Hopefully they hired an outside home inspector from beginning to end for the phase-inspection process.

It's a pretty cool transformation to see it come to live from the ground up.

What a patient person you are. This is a great video. Glad they removed the porta potty!

Jane, They did it in one day! They're fast!

Carl, Probably not. Engineers don't think they need stuff like that. I've posted other pictures in my blog about "stuff" going on in that house...

Loreena, Thanks!

Lou, The Austin economy doesn't need a boost. It's been going really strong. New communities all over the place.

Ellie, I was waiting and waiting for that porta potty to disappear!!

Hi Donna,

What a great idea to combine all the shots into a short video.  It's amazing how quickly new homes are constructed! Who is the builder?

Donna   The video is outstanding plus you have a cool home across the street.  Was it custom or will your sign be across the street as well?
