These brand new license plates are now being offered in Texas for $30 (in addition to regular registration fees). I'm definitely getting one. However, for another $40, you can customize the 5 letters.
I need help trying to figure out something catchy that wouldn't already be taken. I assume REL8R is already taken, though I'll still try for it. Does anyone have any other ideas for 5 letters relating to real estate??

How about:
Homes
House
Donna
Agent
* I can't think of any unique ones right now. Good luck!
Oh so it doesn't have to be 5 letters/numbers in total?
I have a special plate on one of my cars, its: REZ (the first three letters of my last name and was my nickname with friends, etc.)
I am looking to get NIMA soon! I also want to get magnetic signs, one for each side of my car!
Spell house backwards? ESUOH ? ROTLAER ? That might be a tough one.
I wonder what Florida has to offer. I was thinking of picking a zip code.
Nima, Yes, 5 letters or less. With the TAR logo, there is no room for more than 5 letters.
Chris-Elizabeth, I thought about a zip code, but I would hate for people to think I work exclusively in that one zip code. My city alone has 3 zips. The city of the school district I'm in has about 9 zips...
It's going to take some thought. House backwards sound intriging... though Homes backwards looks more appealing at SEMOH...
I started filling out the forms, and I have to submit 3 choices if I want the specialized plates... I need more suggestions people... PLEASE!!
By the way, $22 of the $30 fee goes to promote and support affordable housing programs in Texas.
Margaret, nice plates! Now that I have the name Harris, it's too common to be able to use it.... Richey might have worked a couple of years ago.
Eli and David, very good suggestions. They are on the list.
Anyone else?
While driving around from appt to appt the last couple of hours, I've been thinking of others and wanted your opinion. I like the SLLEM from Leigh, however, I was thinking SELLM, since the letter M would do the same thing as EM. Or even just SEL M. We're allowed to put a space in there, or even the small texas logo. With a sharpie I could put the ` mark.
Or, how about SELIN (selling), BUYIN or BYING (buying).
I think I'm leaning towards BUYIN... but it's probably taken.
And the winners are:
HOMES; RE007; BUYIN
I'm assuming HOMES is already taken. My husband really liked the RE007 but thinks because there's no space between the RE and the 007, that most people won't get it. And I like BUYIN because it looks better than SELEM, again because you need a space between the SEL and the EM for it to make sense.
I'll take a picture and post when I get the plates!! I'm sure it'll be a couple of weeks.
Sold
or somesuch
I Chose BUYIN for the plates. I called the state to see which words were available, and as I had assumed, most were. As of now, BUYIN is still available. I forgot to ask her about SELL* where the * is the little picture of Texas so I put that as choice 2 and did not put a third choice. RE007 could not be used because it violated the rules. You cannot have 3 numbers in a row along with letters as they say it's too close to regular plates.
Donna, Was driving down the road tonight and was thinking about your plates.
Did you check to see if "LIST M" was a choice?

Margaret, I decided using the ones ending in M wouldn't make sense to most people because there wouldn't be a space allowed between the word and the M for them to think to read it separately.
I'm really excited about the BUYIN and can't wait to see it in print!
Keep us posted and let us know how it works for you! Don't forget to post a picture of your tags so we can see what AR helped create. Good luck. Have fun.

My new plates finally arrived! Check out this link and let me know what you think:

Margaret, the problem with plate holders in Texas is that there is a new law (almost 2 years old) that says if any part of the word "Texas" is covered, you can get a ticket. Too many vanity plates have obstructed views of the plates, so now there's a law. It's hard to find ones with the very thin top... but then it would also cover up the "Working for you" on the bottom of the plate, but I definitely understand your point, as I've looking into them in the past.
I'll keep looking!
I just got my plates! in Virginia
I picked BLOGIN to go along with the Realtor logo.
Margaret, Got the message, and I'll look into that for my 2008 marketing strategy. THANKS!
