North Texas HOV Lanes- How do I get on?

Did you read my previous blog about how unhappy I was about the new HOV lanes that have opened on 75 Central Expressway through Richardson TX?

Even though I'm very unhappy with the way they did the lanes, others will need to know how to access the lanes.  You would think that you could just drive and be in the left lane and wait for the openings, as this is how it is on all of our other highways and freeways.  However, you would be wrong!!

For the main entrances into the HOV lane, you must actually exit off 75 Central Expressway and follow the signs.  Huh?  Does this even make sense? Sounds silly to me.  Oh, and don't forget that there's even a different route during rush hour traffic in the mornings and evenings.  RIDICULOUS!!

Anyway, here's a link to the graphics that will better explain what I'm talking about.  Anyone from the area think these HOV lanes make sense?

Hey Jeff!  That video was pretty cool!  I may need to look into that... but then I would have to attach a web cam to my computer again...  Anyway, no, not all the HOV lanes are like this.  It's only confusing like this on this one highway.  It's only been open for about a week, end of December.  I've never had a chance to use the HOV lanes since I live in Richardson and there is no way in or out, which is why I'm livid.

The HOV lanes are terrible.  What a waste of our taxpayer money.  Not wonder TxDOT is bankrupt.  They waste money on these stupid projects.  Why can't the lanes be like the ones on LBJ???  Wait, that would be too simple for our TxDOT bureaucrats to figure out!

Linda, no joke!!  The response talks about taking some traffic off the main lanes, but that only works if the Allen and McKinney people are coming from south of 635 or else they won't be able to get on until Parker which still doesn't help the Richardson people.
