Austin TX Real Estate - Hill Country Austin Lakeway Homes for Sale: Realtor About to Be Foreclosured on- Doesn't understand a Short Sale

Realtor About to Be Foreclosured on- Doesn't understand a Short Sale

Do you ever want to just reach through the phone and slap the person on the other end?

avoid foreclosure short sale austin texasI was speaking with a perspective seller. I could hardly get a word in. I understand she was upset, but she barely let me explain things. She thought she knew it all. Why? Because she's also a real estate agent.

However, this real estate agent is about to be foreclosed on. She is almost 2 years behind on her mortgage and they've given her a date of Dec 4 for the foreclosure. I tried to explain a short sale to her. Did I mention she's a licensed real estate agent?? She had absolutely no clue about a short sale and how they work. Once I finally was able to explain things, she let me talk a little, but then back to her own agenda.

I doubt she'll list for a short sale because she won't take the time to educate herself further on it. She's so fed up with Bank of America that she rather the house go into foreclosure. Yes, I told her a short sale is the better route, but just like "regular" sellers in a bad situation, even real estate agents in bad situations don't always know when to shut up and accept help.

If you're a home owner in or around the Austin Texas area, please don't let the bank just take your house. There are other ways for a graceful exit. Let me help you help yourself with a short sale. You'll be happy you took control!

that is so sad, sometimes agents lose focus on the big picture and yes you know they do not work short sales or foreclosures at all.. ironically it would be a home run in earning business if they did as they could offer empathy up and most likely help a lot of folks out

At this point if you're an agent and you don't know what a short sale is, then you should probably give up your license voluntarily lol :).  You don't have to work them, but you should know what one is for crying out

Oh and yes to your first question lol :)!

Hi Donna,  Great blog! and yes, there are lots of agents out there like this one UNFORTUNATELY! and they dont know when to shut up and listen.  Obviously, she should have called you months ago.

She'll be in foreclosure because she does not know how to shut up along with not knowing the short sale process...she must of scared her clients away.

Prescribe her a bottle of wine.
