Austin Hits #11 For Biggest Cities - Bee Cave Fastest Growing

Austin Growth Chart - Bee Cave largest population increase

Austin used to be a sleepy little Capitol City until people and companies found it!  Now, people are relocating here from all over the world and Austin isn't small anymore. Austin is just like any other large metro area with the sprawls of the suburns in each direction. Here is the report.

I live in Bee Cave TX, which is 20 minutes West of Downtown Austin. Bee Cave just voted a couple of weeks ago to adopt a Home Rule Charter. In order to have Home Rule, there must be a minimum of 5000 residents.  Bee Cave grew 9.27% from 2011 to 2012. That's a population of 4435 to 4846, but now over 5000 in 2013 per the count the city calculated.

Bee Cave is growing because our taxes are low and the schools, Lake Travis ISD, are exemplary!!

Bee Cave is also finding itself in a period of change. The City Council just voted in 3 new members and hopefully they'll be able to focus their vision as to how Bee Cave should finish being built.

Other notable cities that are becoming more and more popular are Buda and Hutto.

Buda is the first city just South of Austin. This is where many people are going to get more home for their money and still be fairly close to downtown Austin. You can buy a newer home, under 10 years old, for under $150k. Granted, that's not a huge house, but it's still a nice starter home.

Hutto is NE of Austin. Hutto is a city of unity as each of their schools have the same mascot and they are just the Hutto Hippos. As you drive the neighborhoods, you'll see Hippo statues all over the place. I have a buyer moving to Hutto tomorrow who built a brand new DR Horton home, about 2500 sqft, for under $200,000. Amazing the value you can get.

It's interesting that there is actually a city that lost some population, as that doesn't usually happen. I wonder if it's just kids that graduated and moved out of Wimberley to go to college in another area.

Austin has become the place to be. Call me today and I'll help you with your move!

Great map and explanation Donna of all the population growth and exemplary schools around Austin. Bee Cave is definitely on the map and I have visited Lakeway so I know where that is. I did have a horrible experience back to Dallas last time from Austin with a six hour drive. Road construction and accidents frequent commuters tell me make it always something unpredictable. It sounds like Bee Cave has a bright future with its planning.

Hi Gary, We had that 6 hour drive one time too, but with a poopy 1 year old... it took over 30 minutes just to get to the exit so we could clean her up! Construction isn't so bad these days...

I am from Luling and I wonder if they have lost population. I would not think that Wimberly did and I think Luling is smaller in population then they are.

Austin is a fabulous city and Bee Cave is very nice and not so close in to be hectic.  Good choice for a place to live.
