As I logged in this evening, I noticed that this is probably going to be my last night on the top of the Texas board. I've held the #1 spot for 2 years now, and it's been fun while it lasted. I'm sure I could have continued my reign if "life" didn't happen. It all started last Spring when I found out I was pregnant and I was too tired to post. I was lucky if I logged on a couple of times a month.
Because of that, I left the door open for others to catch up... But that's ok. It's best to acknowledge and move on, rather than dwell on the situation.
If I end up moving to Austin, which it's looking more and more like that is what is going to happen, there will be two Austin people at the top, and Dallas gets knocked down. I guess between me and Jason, all personality types will be taken care of.
Good luck at the top Jason! I'm passing the torch on over to ya!

Donna, half the fun is getting there. Now you'll have that opportunity all over again!
Honestly, Donna - I think the #3 spot is best! I struggled to stay behind #2 Margaret Rome in Maryland, and finally gave up when she dropped off the charts for a while. It would actually please me to have her claim it back because I think being the top agent in the longer list gets more notice from consumers - and they're the ones that count!
Donna, wherever you are in the point totals you and Jason are tops for our state. Jason sure takes his blogging seriously though. Good luck with any of your future plans.
Cute post, Donna. If it had to be some one, Jason's a great guy! Enjoy that baby. Life's so much fun when it "happens."
Howdy Donna
You are showen folk's the real spirit of the Active Rain community, with this fine written post!
I'll look for more of your blog post's.
Good luck on the move to Austin.
Even #2 keeps you featured. 2 years is a long reign. I have not hit my two year anniversary yet.
Well, I think I'd rather have a cute baby than the top spot anyway! My baby turns 2 at the end of the month and I'm enjoying every minute of it!
Jim, Great way to look at it!
Margaret, Really? I get lots of calls and emails asking why I'm always the "featured agent" when they go to the main page. I'm going to miss that.
Gary, Thank you!
Natalie, Yes, it's a BLAST, thanks!
Dale, Thanks for such nice comments.
Randy, Yes, you're right... and it would be ok if I stay in Dallas. With a potential move to Austin, there might be a competition for actual leads... but a little friendly competition never hurt anyone! ;)
Ron, Good seeing you again. I can't believe it's been 2 years for you already. Seems like yesterday... but even Alyssa will be 7 months on Monday, and it seems like she was born yesterday!
Hi Donna... you'll always be the Queen of the Texas rankings in our hearts! You're right... life happens... and life is not all about competition, points or recognition. It's also about love, respect and enjoyment. Moderation is not a bad thing (ask any dietician)! Carpe Diem!
Donna, congrats, and I hope you love being a mom!! Out of all the reasons for not keeping the top ranking, that's a pretty good one... ;)
Donna: Yes, it really does seem that we were just reading about Alyssa being born. How time flies. I have enjoyed seeing your smiling face in the number one spot since I joined Active Rain late last August. I think that whoever is in the number one spot does not matter as much as you being the Queen of Texas Active Rain... no matter what spot you are in. Take care...
Steve, Queen of Texas... I like that! And I know I owe you a phone call... life happens all the time now!
Sara, I'm loving being a mom. Most babies say dadadada first, but all Alyssa says is Mamamamama... it's so sweet!
Karen, Thanks so much!
Baby? Featured agent? Baby? Featured agent?
Ok, I admit, I don't have to make that choice.
But it looks like you have it under control.
Congratulations and best of luck in Austin.
Donna, I'll miss your smiling face beaming out at me. I regret that we didn't close a transaction together in Dallas. Best of luck to you in Austin.
Donna. You will get a parden to take care of you child. However you still get visitation rights.
Sorry theat you have dropped off but the baby is more important
Sorry theat you have dropped off but the baby is more important
Mike, Yes, it is a hard decision, isn't it!! ;)
Lorrie, Thanks, and we'll be here a few more months, so there is still time to work together.
Shaun, Thanks! I need those visitation rights as I can't quit cold turkey.
Andrew, Thank you, I agree!
Donna, congratulations on holding on for so long to the #1 spot. You couldn't have chosen a nicer guy and better broker to lose it to than Jason Crouch.
Great Job on #1 spot. Nobody is reigning champion forever.
Brian, I wouldn't use the word "chosen" as it's my choice to remain #1, but I understand what you mean! :)
James, So true, so very true.
Donna - You need to keep blogging but only when time allows. I'm sure you have your hands full and as the days go by you will get busier. Children change your whole life style but it's worth it. Keep us informed.
I agree Lorrie. My pupils won't open as much for Jason. ;)
Donna, you've earned a rest....but can't wait to see you back on top in another market.
Carl and Ceil, I'll definitely keep blogging as I've seen the benefits, just not as much as I was last year and the year before...
Greg, Thanks!
Kay, If we go to the other market, Jason has tha covered as well, since it would be Austin... oh well.
You can't always be first place but at least you aren't dropping out of the race. I'm just happy being in the top 10 in my county! I could never keep up with some of the bloggers on here. Not with 6 kids to take care of.
Cheri, I know what you mean! Your kid count will keep going down, while mine will go up. We'll swap poositions in a few years!
Donna,
You are in fine company with the top three bloggers there in Texas. Having any top 3 spots would be just fine in my book!
Mike, THank you! Still at the top, and watching like that pot not boiling... I expected to wake up and be gone... oh, the anticipation is getting bad.
