Is it wrong to write a blog wishing yourself a Happy Birthday? Good, because I wouldn't want to be uncouth! So, today is my birthday. Usually, once the 4th of July comes, the rest of the next week usually goes by so slow and I can't wait for my birthday. This year was completely different.
This past week went by so quickly. I have no idea why. Maybe because birthdays aren't as exciting anymore? Last year for my birthday, I had the most exciting day and that's because it was the day I found out I was having a girl! How can this birthday compete with that one?
I'm not sure any birthday could ever match up to last years'...
Any suggestions on how to bring the excitement of birthdays back to life?
By the way, just because it's my birthday, I have arranged for 7-11 to give out FREE slurpees to everyone today, so no matter where you are in the country, go get yourself a FREE slurpee on me!!
From now on you will be more excited about Alyssa's birthday than you are about your own birthday.

Excitement? My husband always take me out for sushi and he usually takes the rest of the day off. This year, I get to spend it with 1 more extra person, my Boomer!

Donna... Happy belated birthday. Sorry I wasn't online much to catch this yesterday (I will blog about why later) but I hope you had an enjoyable day. I was so busy with grief and aggravation yesterday I totally missed out on my free Slurpee! :(
Donna - No matter what, you should always blow out the candles, make a wish and wear a cone on your head. Eat your favorite ice-cream with pizza and a glass of milk... (ooh I really hate that word more than any other LK), Sleep in late and be pampered. It's your birthday week, not day!

Greg, I think someone programmed Alyssa's internal clock for 5am because no matter what time she goes to bed, be it 6:30 or even 8:30, she's up at 5am. Sometimes I can get her to sleep another 30-45 minutes by just changing her diaper, but we're usually up and starting the day. And, no, I didn't mention my age, but I did mention it a couple of years ago with this blog:

5 a.m.? Ouch. Preston has issues his dang self. He refues to go to sleep until 11:00. he doesn't get up until about 9 or 10. Weird I know, but that's what we deal with. We watch Leno together. Preston actually says ooohhh Leno!

Roland, Thank you, and yes it was a great day, except for the fact that the restaurant we were planning on going to was closed and opening up under new ownership and new name tonight, but we had plans for tonight. They are going to honor my giftcard from the previous place, so that's cool.
Greg, 11PM?? Dang, that's late! I used to do a dream-feed with Alyssa at 10pm, but that's after she had already gone to bed around 7-8pm. She's still getting 10+ hours of sleep, but I wish she would sleep 12 hours like she's supposed to so I can get a couple of extra hours... oh well. I wouldn't trade her for sleep!

John, Thank you, and yes having her there made it very special. She had a blast at dinner as she's a people watcher just like me. We had to turn her high chair around so she could see people because she wouldn't sit still in the chair. It was funny.
