WOW! Can you believe it? I check my emails yesterday, as I do every 2 seconds, and I get the ActiveRain newsletter. I usually skim through it fairly quickly, but then head to the featured blog pages if a title caught my attention. I was scrolling and scrolling and about to click out of that and into my next email when I saw a face I recognized.
It was MY face! I was highlighted in the Member Spotlight section. They even mentioned my birthday and my daughter. How very interesting. I had just assumed that they were taking excerpts from the members' profile for the spotlight. I had no idea a real human was writing them, and then also writing personal stuff that didn't come from the profile. The person who wrote it even knew Alyssa turned 8 months old a couple of days ago, and I didn't even do an 8 month blog.

I would just like to say THANK YOU to ActiveRain for continuing to make this site personal and not letting automation take over. I would also like to thank the numerous people who have contacted me since the newsletter came out. I guess people actually do read newsletters instead of just hitting delete as I admit to doing sometimes.
Keep up the progressions ActiveRain!! Slow and steady wins the race!

Donna - Congrats on the recognition. You gotta know that someone likes your blog when they know the details! :-)
Donna,
This is very cool recognition indeed. Out of 98,500 members you were featured. That's pretty amazing odds. Great job.
Steve
Lindsey, Exactly, that's what I'm talking about... though Alyssa was probably the first AR baby blogged about.
Steve, I know! And just think, when I got in my car yesterday, the odometer read 66.6 and I thought it was going to be a horid day. For a good part of the day, things went really bad, like a closing that didn't fund, but overall, it was a good day.
Donna: Congratulations on being the featured agent. But... you were already at the top of many of our lists even before this came out :) Take care... hope you had a great birthday !
Karen, Thank you! And Bday dinner is tonight at Maggiano's. It should be fun, except they make you pay for your own bday dessert, which I think is rude!
Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!!! Tell them your unhappy with experience (which will be true - dessert) & I bet you $100 you'll get free dessert. The dessert is the first settlement in the unhappy silence the customer scenario.
Donna, congrats on the feature, and nice ThemThem to the Active Rain Network! WTG!!!!!
Hey Donna...
My birthday is Monday,.,..do they come like on Publisher's Clearing House with Flowers, candles and cake ? Hope you had a happy....obviously, all good and talented folks are born in July !
Congratulations on being in the spotlight. A recognition to a very deserving person.
Greg, You owe me $100... granted, we didn't say it was a bad experience, but they did not it was my bday because they put candles in the cheesecake even... I waited tables too many years to complain about an experience unless it was horid.
Duane, Thank you!
Sally & David, Nope, not like Publishers... Mike did take me to the store to pick out cupcakes. That's a first for him to even think of something like that, so he got a gold star.
Robert, Thank you! *blush*
Donna congratulations on being featured. I haven't seen the newsletter how do I receive it. Am I supposed to do something to get it.
Greg, I moved the dollar, but didn't see anything...
Jeff, Thank you! I don't know how to sign up for the newsletter as it just started showing up in my email a few weeks ago... I didn't do anything to get it. You might want to check your junk box?
Donna: That is so cool.... I havent seen it yet. Maybe I've missed it. I'll check on it now.
you're welcome!....hehe
