Austin TX Real Estate - Hill Country Austin Lakeway Homes for Sale: Happy 34th Birthday to my Brother Erick

Happy 34th Birthday to my Brother Erick

Happy Birthday, Erick!  Today you are 34 years old.  WOW!  I can't believe it.  Just last week, you were 8 and beating me up. Then, you were 9 and beating me up.  Then, you were 10 and beating me up... do you see the pattern?

Now, you're 34 years old. You've stopped beating me up, only because I now know how to hit back, and also because you live across the country.  I know we haven't always gotten along, but we had fun when we did.

You invited me to my first college party and you even "allowed" me to do my first keg-stand when I was only 18.  What fun was that!  I'll always remember that night because I got a ticket on the way back to my dorm.

I remember your 21st birthday when you decided to sample every liquor possible.  I'm so glad I wasn't the one holding your head over the toilet that night! We had to run through the restaurant yelling, "Pregnant lady coming through!" just so people would get out of our way so you wouldn't get sick on them.  Kinda embarrassing at the time, but really funny when Mom and Andy tell the story to people!  LOL!!

Anyway, hope you have a good birthday.  Have a drink on me.

Here's a picture of Erick with my daughter, Alyssa, back in April when he came in town for a visit to see her for the first time.

Happy BD Erick!  BDs are no fun in the 30's.  Your next one will be the 50th.  So in the mean time continue to beat the sister up for fun!

Brett, Yes, time does fly...  but when you're getting beat up, it goes sllloooowwww.

Gary, Thanks.

Happy Birthday Erick! Kind of partial to that name without the 'k' (my husband's name is Eric)! Hopefully, he can come back for a visit soon to see the changes in Alyssa! And yes my brother use to beat me up too (usually got bonked on the head).....

Hi Donna... Alyssa looks very happy with uncle Erick!  It's funny how many people I know who did not have the closest relationships with siblings growing up manage to bridge their relationship obstacles as adults.  My brother and I definitely fall into that category!

Teresa, I got more than bonked on the head!  He used to outright punch me. He was also a nail scratcher so I have many scares.  I chewed my nails so never had any weapons back.

Steve, Just another reason why my kids won't  be too close in age.  Most of the fighting was because we were too close. We had the same teachers and the same classes, sometimes just one period appart.  I was a year younger, but in honors and he was in regular classes.  So in many subjects, I was ahead of him and he resented it.  *shrug* live and learn and don't have kids too close in age!

Donna - LOL!  Your brother picked on you, too?  You really made me laugh...  Happy Birthday, Erick!  :)

Debi, Yes, I think they think it's their right even though it's just plane rude!

Greg, I don't believe there were any pictures taken, no evidence...
