I'm at the corner this morning needing gas. My car is on fumes. I look at one sign, it's $1.84. I look at another sign, it's $1.84. I look across the street at the third sign on this one corner, and the sign is $1.81. Where do I go?
That's right, I go to the one across the street at $1.81. I push the button to start filling up, but the button says $1.83. How can this be? The sign says $1.81 and there are no people outside changing the numbers so it can't be a recent change...
I'm a little upset. These days $0.02 can be a lot when you're putting over 20 gallons in your car. Then, I got out my trusty little calculator to make sure the math in my head was correct.
With the 21.621 gallons I put in my 4Runner, they screwed me out of $0.43. I decided to let it go this time only because this was the first time in about 2 years that I actually filled up for under $40!! I couldn't believe it! The total was $39.76 whereas the totals were well over $80 just a few months ago.
What are you paying in your area, and have any gas stations tried to pull a fast one on you?
Holy Smokes... I haven't seen gas under $2 in Lake Mary, FL yet... I'm sure it's coming though. It makes me made that we have been overpaying for months and months and it was just an "over inflated price".
Debbie, We took a while to get to $2, and then in just a week's time, it kept dropping further down. It was nice to watch, but infuriating that we were paying $4 to begin with!
Around our immediate area it is $2.05 - $2.09, but going out a ways it is $1.99. I am headed to our county seat (Reg. of Deeds office) in a few minutes. They always have cheaper prices. I will let you know later what they are there. Take care!
Here in Utah last week I was able to get gas for $2.15. I noticed yesterday that it was back up to $2.27 at the same station.

Well your lower priced that out here in Tucson, AZ! I was happily surprised last night when I passed a sign that said $1.99! I was resigned to the idea that I would never see it under $2 again! But I agree with you, I would have been a bit peeved to notice a difference in price. But then again it was under $2, count your lucky stars :)

1.81...that is about what I have seen...even at the QT....try going to the QT over by Baylor/Heart Center on W Plano Parkway...they are usually a little cheaper...
$1.93 for regular up in Northern New Jersey. It was ten cents cheaper in the southern part of the state two weeks ago.
I was impressed that 15 dolllars actually registered on my gas gauge. I paid 1.70 today I belive. They can charge me 1.72 though, its alot better that than 4.29.

Okay, it was $1.88 but I could have gotten it for $1.85 if I would have drove another block down... but I was happy!
I'm paying around $2.03 - $2.09. But it's also the premium gas. The lowest I've seen in the Plano/ Frisco area is about $1.78.

For the last 2 years I have been dreaming of seeing $1.75 but thought I never would. Today I saw $1.74!!! I'll take it but I'm still mad about paying $4 for no obvious reason.
Hi Donna... I saw gas out in Irving today (Las Colinas area) for $1.69! I was annoyed that I did not need to fill up because that's the lowest I have seen in a LONG time.

We just hit the under $2.00 per gallon mark here in the Raleigh area! A year ago I would have been mad to even pay that much. But now it's a bonus to pay under $2.00!

I got diesel for $2.69 a couple of days ago, and was absolutely delighted. Could probably have gotten it for less if I'd driven over to Taylor, which seems to have the lowest prices in the area, but that day it was out of my way and I'd probably have used up the difference driving there. (I do try to plan my route, when it's appropriate, to head home that way just to stop for fuel.)
The lowest I've seen for regular so far is $1.89, but it's been dropping like a stone the last few days.

Here in Fulton, Missouri we are sitting at $1.79! I'm so excited and I am also on fumes so filling up the Mustang today should be about $27!! WHOO HOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
This morning, bright and very chilly, it was $1.64 in Henderson, KY.
It's been going down 2 or 3 cents every couple of days. I hope it stays down so people have a bit more money to ease the crunch.

My false advertised $1.81 place is showing $1.77 today. I wonder what they're actually charging though... It's amazing to see such drops in a week's time.
