Austin TX Real Estate - Hill Country Austin Lakeway Homes for Sale: Get Your FREE Dr. Pepper Before it's Too Late!

Get Your FREE Dr. Pepper Before it's Too Late!

Dr. Pepper company is giving out FREE Dr. Pepper!!  Can you believe it?!  Now, many of you across the country are asking yourself, "What's Dr. Pepper?" since it is not a national brand.  But in Texas, Dr. Pepper is huge!  Cross the border, and you'll be lucky to be able to find it in most places.

Dr. Pepper was created in Waco, TX in case any history buffs wanted to know that.

Anyway, Dr. Pepper made a bet earlier this year that if Guns 'N Roses released their much talked about album, Chinese Democacy, before the end of 2008, that they would give away FREE Dr. Pepper.

Well, the album that has been in the works since 1994 is finally hitting store shelves on Sunday.

Beginning Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 12:01am, there will  be coupons available on the Dr. Pepper Website for 24 hours for a FREE 20 ounce soda.

The coupons will be honored through February 2009, so you might want to set your printer to print more than just one.  I'm setting a reminder in my calendar so I don't forget.

Comments

Thanks for the post.  I thought Dr. Pepper was all over the place.  Although I occasionally can only find his less educated cousin, Mr. Pibb.

Donna,

I watched the news on TV this morning and they were talking about this bet...how funny. I know it IS huge in Tx. My brother comes to Central Florida to visit and all of his kids love the stuff...

Hi Donna,

I had no idea that Dr. Pepper was created in Waco, TX, nor did I know that it can be hard to find! Out here in California, our stores are always fully stocked!

Don't forget me if you learn of anyone moving to "The OC!"

Dr. Pepper is to sweet for me. I do know of a person that mixes it with Jim Beam and commonly refers to it as a Turkey Pepper.

I guess I don't like soda all that much.

I've been here 12 years. Never acquired the Dr. Pepper taste. It taste like Ribotussin to me. Sorry, I'll pass. So, more for you.

Damon, Yuck, I hate Mr. Pibb.

Rebecca, It's just carbonated Prum Juice...  I hope you stock up on toilet paper when they come!  LOL

Michael, Yeah, it's sometimes hard. I used to make road trips up to Colorado, and once you pass Oklahoma, it was hard to find.

Randall, No problem.

Greg, Yes, it is very sweet.  Does your friend dump the shot in the Dr. Pepper?  That's what you're supposed to do and it almost explodes, and then you chug it.

Loreena, I'll pass your share around to my friends.

Tony, You're welcome.

Mike, Go get 'em.

It was a big disappointment when they pulled that Diet Cherry Choc Dr Pepper.  I dont know if I will ever get over that.  Might have to drive down to Waco to protest. :)  I will use the coupon though, Thanks!

Donna, cool thanks for the info and for the trivia! I'll have to print out my free coupon!

I never knew that you couldn't get it everywhere.

We used to drop a shot glass full of bourbon into the dr pepper, then slam it down. That was in my wild teenage years.

Then there was a flaming Dr. Pepper but I forgot how that worked.

I'm a Mississippi boy and have grown up with Dr. Pepper (it was soo good back when it came in a glass bottle, those plastic bottles have ruined sodas for me) I didn't realize it wasn't a national brand.

Also, what is the connection to G n' R? That seems like an odd combo.

Posted by Lovejoy Team (Re/Max Alliance) about 3 years ago

Wayne, I can't say I ever tried it.

Mike, My brain has a lot of useless (ful?) information.

Lovejoy, My friends did that too, but not me... And I don't know the link. Probably just a comment made by someone at DP just in passing.

I love Dr Pepper! And GNR. Interesting marketing idea, for the company.

Donna: We are Dr. Pepper drinkers, we need that Peppr Upper everyday about three. Hope the website doesn't crash.

Hey Donna,  I love Doctor Pepper.  I have since I was a kid.  The other one I liked but don't see it anymore was RC Cola.  Thanks for the tip, I will be getting my free 20 ouncer!

They will be glad to know that I won't be taking advantage of their free offer. It tastes like bad medicine to me.

No Donna, that's a flaming Dr. Pepper, especially when lit by a lighter. Actually, I lied. He calls it a Turkey Bird. I just saw him tonight. He stopped by to give me some speaker wire. He drank some of my Jim Beam that he left here from our Halloween party.

Turkey Bird. That's just horrible.

Donna:  Wow... great tip.  Now all I have to do is remember to go to the website on November 23rd.  Hopefully, I will remember.  And Loreena... Dr Pepper tastes like Robitussin.  Nahhh... not to me.  Although I must admit that when I first moved here from Ohio... I was kinda scared of giving it a try... wondering if it would  taste like some sort of medicine.  I like the diet DP better... and never had one of the regular ones.  Much too sweet, I imagine.

I remember when I was younger... I used to love the commercials with that young kid dancing all over the place... singing I'm a Pepper, you're a Pepper... wouldn't ya like to be a Pepper, too !

Posted by Fort Worth Real Estate - - - Karen Anne Stone (New Home Hunters of Fort Worth and Tarrant County) about 3 years ago

Karen, No, the best commercials were the, "Dr. Pepper, give me the news, I've got a bad case of lovin' you..."

"I remember when I was younger... I used to love the commercials with that young kid dancing all over the place... singing I'm a Pepper, you're a Pepper... wouldn't ya like to be a Pepper, too !"

Thats the theme I remember also!

"Free" and "Discount" are my two favorite words! Free always trumps discount though. So I'll be setting my calendar for that date!

I don't recall that song.  I like the one where the young guy is at an empty office and he's moving around the room in a rolly chair with all those empty desks singing.  Ring a bell?

So, for those who need a reminder, go get your free DP.  However, it's not as easy as first said it would be.  You cannot just go to the website and print out a coupon.  You must "register" on their site, and then they'll mail you a coupon.  I guess they don't want people to print out multiple copies...
