Man, I'm so nervous... I was recently interviewed for a book. Yes, little me, Donna Harris, a commoner, was interviewed to be in a book about real estate. I was sent the draft of my part last week to look over, and I spent the last few days making sure it sounded like me and making sure I could be proud of what I was saying.
Only time will tell when the book actually publishes and the public reads it. I'm so nervous... what if I sound stupid? What if people roll their eyes? Do I care?
Some people might say I shouldn't care what others think. However, real estate is my career, and my name is going to be all over this, and in turn, that would be great if it helped build my business as well. For those reasons, YES, it's very important for others to like me and like what I have to say.
Oh, so nervous, so nervous... I'll let everyone know when it's published and available!

How did you get the gig? Congrats!
I am interested in learning how you got the gig also. Congratulations.
Hi Donna... Congratulations on being interviewed for the book. Please keep us posted when it comes out so I can get my copy autographed.
Donna,
Congratulations! That is too cool to be included on a book in real estate!
Congratulations! That is very exciting.
I was interviewed last week by Voice of America for something unrelated to real estate and I had the same concerns about my clients seeing me the way I want to be seen professionally. I was able to talk a bit about real estate for the camera, but I have no idea how it will be edited.
Keep us posted and be glad you had such a wonderful opportunity that they allowed you the chance to edit your part.
Hey, Donna. We both have 100% confidence that you performed well. Can't wait to read what you said. All our best, Jim & Maria
Congrats on your soon to be publishing.
Congratulations Donna, on being interviewed for the book. Let us know when the book is out.
Angelia, Thanks! I've got connections...
Steven, Thanks! And as above, I've got connections...
Steve, Thanks, and I would be happy to sign a copy... that'll be $1000!
Lanette, Thanks, and I know!!
Dana, Thank you, and congrats to you too. I've been videod before too, and was scared to death how they would cut it. Things always turn out well.
JiMaria, Thank you for the confidence!
David, Thank you!
Joseph, Thanks, and I'l blog about it when it's out!
Donna, How exciting! Hope the book is a best seller. Does it have a title yet?
Margaret, Thanks! And no, there is no exact title yet. Some names are being thrown around and nothing concrete.
They'll edit what you said anyways, right?
What's the name of the book?
Greg, They are not supposed to edit most of what I said, except breaking up long, run-on sentences. I get to proof their "final" to check to make sure it's ok and I'm "allowed" to have them change things if I don't feel things are written well. And there is no name yet...
Very cool stuff! Looking forward to hearing about the title and the publication date. Is it a REMAX book or written by another entity?
Congrats!
Amanda, Thanks! No, it's not a Remax book. It's being written by one of the ladies who was voted as one of the top 100 influential Women in real estate.
Donna - That's so cool. Don't worry, I'm sure you did fine. It's just a small part of your 15 minutes of fame...with much more to come for sure!
Craig, Ahh, but I've already had 15 minutes... not that I'm counting... Thanks for the confidence.
I'm making travel arrangements to be at the premier. flash, flash scream.
Why are you nervous. If you catch somebody rolling their eyes at you, whip out the book and ask "Are you published? Excuse ME ARE YOU PUBLISHED? OH NO YOU DIDN'T, cus I'm published and you aint, so don't be rolling the fake baby blues at me. "
On a listing appointment accidently drop the book on the floor so it falls open to your section and say "Oh, i'm in a book, I give all clients a signed copy".
Congrats. If you could send the corp. Jet to pick me up I will be at the premier also. Mr. Nino owes me a beer I need to collect on anyways.
Greg, Great, I'll see you there!
Chad, Funny! Can I snap my fingers as I say it?
Donna - That is so exciting! I'd be nervous, too. Congratulations! :)
Debi, Thanks so much!
Congrads Donna. Great thing to put on your resume. Good to meet you the other night at Kelly's.
Wayne, It was nice meeting you as well. And yes, I hope it looks great when I'm putting my resume together for listing appts.
Donna: Well look here, Your Queenship ! You are not a commoner. You are our top chick, and we all want you to do well. That is one reason we are cheering you onward as you prepare to go south to do battle with the esteemed Mr. Crouch. Yay Ms Donna. Congratulations on your impending fame. :)
Karen Anne, Thank you, thank you, thank you. I assumed you bowed when you said that, so you may get up now!! j/k
Donna: Yes, of course I did bow. But with me feeling a little under the weather today... I bowed about nine-thirty this morning, and it took me until a bit after lunch time to straighten back up. But hey, yer worth it... LOL.
Congratulations, this sounds like a wonderful opportunity. It must be a good connection:) It's who you know that gets you where you are going, and what you know that keeps you there!!! Good luck and I know you will do great.
Chris
Donna:
I am sure you will have a good part in the book. You are colorful and bright and it should all comeout in print.
Richard
Karen Anne, I hope you didn't hurt yourself! ;)
Allen, Yes, it's a fabulous connection that I fell into a few years ago. I'm glad I met her!
Richard, Thanks, and I sure hope you're right!
Congrats on the recognition, Donna! As long as the book is written by one of the top 100 I don't think you have anything to worry about. When can we expect to see it on Amazon?
John, Thanks! We're hoping it'll be on Amazon by end of January, possibly into February. I'll blog about it when it's out!
